Tai Chi for Arthritis, Part Two

Tai Chi for Arthritis is a gentle form of exercise that increases balance and strength.  The program, which is endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation, consists of three parts which are taught in rotation.  One can begin at any time and eventually will have the opportunity to learn all three parts.

Qigong, Tai Chi, and Stress Management

Qigong Classes 


Qigong, or “Energy Cultivation” classes generally include meditation, breathing practice, self-massage or acupressure, and meditative movement.  The focus of the class may be general, such as Stress Management, relate to the current season of the year with its gifts and challenges, or cover a variety of cultivation methods to address a chronic health concern, such as headaches, back pain, or menopause. 

In 2013 I completed a three year training in Medical Qigong through the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture and the International Institute of Medical Qigong.  My classes therefore draw heavily upon the meditations, exercises, and other practices learned through this extensive training.  In addition, I am honored to be certified by Francesco Garripoli and Daisy Lee to teach Organ Cleansing Qigong.  

Tai Chi Classes

taichiWhile Qigong often employs individual movements that are repeated, Tai Chi typically strings together Qigong-like movements into a more choreographed meditative dance.  I am certified by the Tai Chi for Health organization to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes.  I have also completed training as a Tai Chi Easy™ Practice Leader.
