Tai Chi for Arthritis - Beginner
This class, part of Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health series, is based on the gentle Sun Style form of Tai Chi. Gentle flowing movements help improve strength and balance, whether or not you have a diagnosis of arthritis. Each class will include a short meditation for focus, a routine to warm up the major joints of the body, and the practice itself. Feel free to call me if you have any questions about how you might benefit from this program.
October 20 – December 15 (8 Fridays)
$144 for the 8 Class Series

Qigong, Tai Chi, and Stress Management
You can always visit www.peaceabledragon.org for a comprehensive list of Tai Chi and Qigong classes offered throughout the northern Virginia area.
Also, please note that I am available to teach small groups in your home or office. Please call me at 703-623-8340 and together we can create a class with a theme to suit your needs.
Qigong, or “Energy Cultivation” classes generally include meditation, breathing practice, self-massage or acupressure, and meditative movement. The focus of the class may be general, such as Stress Management, relate to the current season of the year with its gifts and challenges, or cover a variety of cultivation methods to address a chronic health concern, such as headaches, back pain, or menopause.
In 2013 I completed a three year training in Medical Qigong through the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture and the International Institute of Medical Qigong. My classes therefore draw heavily upon the meditations, exercises, and other practices learned through this extensive training. In addition, I am honored to be certified by Francesco Garripoli and Daisy Lee to teach Organ Cleansing Qigong.
Tai Chi Classes
While Qigong often employs individual movements that are repeated, Tai Chi typically strings together Qigong-like movements into a more choreographed meditative dance. I am certified by the Tai Chi for Health organization to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes. I have also completed training as a Tai Chi Easy™ Practice Leader.
