3 Resources for End of Life Conversations

While it seems daunting to bring up end-of-life planning during this already depressing period, there is no better time to write or review your Living Will and Power of Attorney for Healthcare documents.

COVID-19 (and other) patients are entering Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units barely able to breathe, let alone speak clearly about their end of life choices.

With patient isolation becoming the norm, family members are also unable to convey the wishes of their loved ones or discuss options with hospital staff.

As a result, medical personnel are being forced to make life and death decisions in the midst of scarce resources without understanding the patient’s preferences for extraordinary care measures.

It has never been more important to make sure that your wishes have been documented and are readily available in the case of an unexpected hospital visit!

If you need help with setting up End of Life Care, here are three of my favorite resources:

  1. AARP Advanced Directive Forms
  2. Five Wishes Advance Care Planning
  3. The Conversation Project

If you’d like to speak with me about the End of Life care and support I offer, visit my End of Life Care & Conversations page or feel free to reach out to me. It would be my honor to assist you with this.

As always, stay well and safe!
